CITATION UPON INDUCTION INTO THE COLLEGE

Good news: the legal profession is not facing imminent death at the hands of digital technology. Hard news: if you got into law to get away from numbers, well, those numbers are coming for you. Dan Katz, scientist, technologist, and law professor, asserts that the legal profession is becoming increasingly data driven. In today’s digital economy, Dan believes that legal practice will thrive at the “intersection of entrepreneurship, informatics, programming, and design thinking.” At the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Dan equips new lawyers to flourish in this information-soaked world; as a founder of Reinvent Law and LexPredict, Dan puts theory to practice, testing his ideas in the real world of startups.
