CITATION UPON INDUCTION INTO THE COLLEGE
As a leading general counsel, Jeff Carr advocates a better way of conducting legal business. Not many practicing lawyers have patents, but Jeff has one pending for law practice management: he designed and implemented ACES™, the Alliance Counsel Engagement System, which aligns law firm and client interests. His work has been recognized with a 2011 FT Innovative Lawyer “Stand Out” award. Jeff also simplified the RFP process used to select outside counsel, replacing dozens of pages with a one-page form on Legal OnRamp. He also required a Tweet, which helped select for being tech-savvy, creative and brief. While other GCs simply preach from the bully pulpit, Jeff uses his buying power to change how law firms serve him. He embodies innovation and creative thinking. I’m pleased to welcome Jeff Carr as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.
