CITATION UPON INDUCTION INTO THE COLLEGE
Over the last three decades, few people have had more interaction with and influence on every published aspect of the world of law practice management than Joan Hamby Feldman. Coming out of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern, she began as Associate Editor of the Lawyer Hiring & Training Report in the 1980s. By the ’90s, the ABA was her client as she launched and managed numerous publications and marketing programs for both the Commission on Women and the Law Practice Management Section. In 1998 she became Managing Editor of the Section’s flagship magazine, Law Practice. Over the next 13 years, and propelled by her boundless energy and enthusiasm, coupled with the highest editorial standards and an intuitive understanding of readers’ needs, Joan and her associates built Law Practice into an award-winning publication. She continues to set precedent and be a leader in law practice related publishing as one of the creators and guiding minds behind the international online publication Attorney at Work. Please join me in welcoming Joan as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.
