Bob Bigelow is a graduate of Harvard Law School. His legal experience includes law clerk to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts; Assistant Counsel of John Hancock Life Insurance Company; solo practice; senior partner of Bigelow & Saltzberg, which concentrated on the legal issues of the computer industry; and consultant to a London firm. He is a founder and past president of the Computer Law Association and of the New England Corporate Counsel Association. Since 1966, Bigelow’s law practice emphasized computer-related legal problems. He has written and spoken about these issues throughout the United States as well as in Canada and Europe. Currently, he emphasizes alternative dispute resolution, especially mediation. Bigelow was a speaker or committee member at most ABA-sponsored economics conferences from 1967 to the mid-’80s. He served six years as a Council Member of the ABA’s Law Practice Management Section and was the founding chair of the analogous committee of the Massachusetts Bar Association. From 1979 through 1996 (except for two years), Bigelow was a columnist for Law Practice Management magazine (formerly Legal Economics). He edited Law Office Economics and Management for nine years. In 1996, Bigelow was inducted as an Honorary Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.
