Steve is a Principal in Gensler’s Washington, D.C. office and is a firmwide leader of Gensler’s Global Law Firm Practice. Steve applies more than 30 years of experience in strategic planning and design as project director for a diverse group of global, national and local law firms. His clients include Latham & Watkins globally, Clifford Chance, Fried Frank, Dickstein Shapiro, Dentons, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Troutman Sanders, Vinson & Elkins, and Keller & Heckman.
Steve is a well-regarded speaker with insights into best practices and emerging trends in law firm design, and has authored a presentation titled “The Changing Landscape of the Legal Profession and Workplace Performance” and co-authored a whitepaper on innovation in law office design titled “Substance Over Status: Justifying Change.” He frequently consults with the leadership of law firms regarding how to craft optimal workplace strategies that position them for the future.

Directing Gensler’s global law firm design practice, he has been asked by clients to design offices around the world, in locations such as Abu Dhabi, Beijing, and Moscow. His long career has been focused on customizing innovative and creative real estate strategies and workplace environments to meet the unique needs of each law firm client. He partners with law firms to help make them more competitive in their market, more profitable, and most importantly to craft space that reinforces their culture and improves the quality of life for those working in the firm.
