CITATION UPON INDUCTION INTO THE COLLEGE
Since becoming a professor at Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2003, Bill Henderson has pioneered the use of data to answer important questions relating to the future of law practice. His writings, whether published by a leading scholarly journal, The American Lawyer, or as a blog on The Legal Whiteboard, are consistently relevant, timely, and accessible to a wide audience throughout the legal profession.
Over time, Bill Henderson’s macro-level analyses of the legal market have led to micro-level classroom innovations, including law school courses that focus on career development, the economics and structure of law firms, project management for lawyers, and leadership. In each case, practitioners from the legal sector are invited into his classroom to help craft a common agenda for academia and the legal profession. Professor Henderson’s applied research with Lawyer Metrics helps law firms and law schools use data to adapt to the changing legal marketplace. His induction as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management recognizes his distinctive work connecting people and ideas.
