Gary Birnbaum died on November 1, 2016.
College Fellow and longtime professor and trial attorney Gary Birnbaum died suddenly on November 1, 2016. Born April 29, 1952, in the Bronx, New York, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University. Gary worked at the Arizona firm of Mariscal, Weeks, McIntyre and Friedlander where he built a nine person law firm into a sixty person law firm. Most recently he managed their merger with Dickinson Wright of Detroit. Gary was a law professor at Arizona State University (ASU), an adjunct professor and associate dean for graduate studies and program development at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. He was also instrumental in starting the Trial Advocacy Program at ASU. Gary received numerous legal accolades, including “Lawyer of the Year” in Best Lawyers in America and “Best Lawyer to Bet Your Firm On.” He will be missed by his family, friends and the legal community.
