In addition to ample networking opportunities, the Futures Conference will feature five educational panels comprised of dozens of leading experts focused on thought-provoking questions about the future of law:

  • Will there be better access to justice?
  • Will there still be a legal monopoly and guild?
  • Will computers replace lawyers?
  • Where will the legal jobs be in 2026?
  • What will law schools look like?

Read all the exciting details about the sessions, speakers and schedule in the 2016 Conference Brochure. CLE is approved in Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. (Illinois attorneys need to sign-in with IL bar number.) Jurisdictions with reciprocity include: California, New York, Colorado, Florida and New Jersey. Hotel Registration

The host hotel will be the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza. To secure our special conference rate, enter your arrival and departure dates and click “check availability.” Then, on the left-hand side, scroll down, click on group code. Enter CLP and then click “apply.” The discounted rate is available through August 24. Subject to availability, and for reservations made by August 24, you may be able to secure the discount for lodging needs up to three days before or after the conference dates.

Shuttle Service

Shuttle service between the law school the host hotel will be available at the beginning and end of each day’s activities. For those who wish to walk, the distance between the two venues is approximately 1.3 miles.

Conference Policies

Guest Tickets: Only Fellows and designated representatives of Platinum and Gold Sponsors registered to attend the conference may purchase guest tickets for personal guests, e.g., spouse/domestic partner or family member. Guest tickets grant admittance to evening social events but not to educational offerings or session rooms without prior approval of COLPM leadership.

Accommodations: COLPM complies with the Americans With Disabilities Act. When you register, please tell us if you require accommodation related to dietary restrictions or accessibility.

Image and Voice Release: Registration and attendance at, or participation in, the COLPM Futures Conference and related activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant. COLPM’s use and distribution, both now and in the future, of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities.

Cancellations: Written cancellation requests received on or before August 24, 2016, will be assessed a $75 USD administrative fee. Thereafter, registration and guest ticket fees are nonrefundable.
