Where were you born and raised?
What’s your favorite thing to do away from work?
Take my boat out on the lake.
What achievement outside of work makes you most proud?
My work in the Army National Guard with sexual assault victims.
Did you choose your career or did it choose you?
I chose it … I wanted a Corvette like the local attorney in my hometown had!
Who was your mentor and what made him or her so influential?
Mr. Russ Turman. He was my next door neighbor and was paralyzed on his left side. He literally came and got me (as a 9-year-old) and taught me to ride and show horses (which was something he could no longer do.) I learned the power of determination, endurance, patience, self-sacrifice and how to reach out and give back.
What is the most vivid moment or experience in your career?
Coaching clients one on one each week and watching them become more successful.
Of the law-related projects or initiatives you’ve worked on in the past year or so, what has you the most excited or shows the most promise?
Our Competitive Advantage Program, offered to small firms is tremendously exciting and gives smaller firms a real edge in their respective marketplaces.
What is the most engaging law-related thing you’re doing right now?
Working on updating my book “The Proactive Practice” which I hope to have done by year-end.
